11U Tigers Victorious in First 2026 Tournament

KINGSPORT, TN - In the team’s first tournament of the 2026 season, the 11U Tigers captured the gold bracket title.

The victory capped off a weekend defined by explosive offense and a "never-say-die" attitude that saw the Tigers outscore their opponents 46 to 15 over their final three games.

The tournament began with an 8-6 loss. However, that loss seemed to ignite a fire in the NRV Tigers dugout. The Tigers spent the rest of the weekend in "attack mode," first erasing a 7 to 1 deficit against the East Kentucky Shiners with an 11 run explosion, and then outlasting the Jr Cyclones 11U in a 13 to 7 slugfest.

By the time the championship rematch arrived, the Tigers were an unstoppable force.

The Masterclass: 16 Runs, 0 Hits Allowed

The championship game was a clinic in every phase of baseball. While the offense provided the fireworks, Adam Lucas provided the backbone. He was untouchable on the mound, tossing a three inning no-hitter, striking out four and refusing to let a single RoughRider runner cross the plate.

Offensively, the Tigers were led by the white-hot bat of Max Edwards, who went a perfect 3 for 3. The Tigers’ relentless pressure forced Little Chicago into early errors, but it was the third inning surge that put the game on ice. NRV sent eight runs across the plate in that frame alone, highlighted by:

• Colton Hughes’ 2 run double.

• Cooper Akers’ 2-RBI single.

• RBI contributions from Kyah Davis, Alex Brown, and Colt Cline.
